Story of a Convict

Life was hard for those onboard the First fleet, especially for the 775 convicts.

Convicts often had:

๐Ÿ˜”  little food and water
๐Ÿ˜”  poor hygiene and supplies
๐Ÿ˜”  overcrowded and unsanitary living quarters
๐Ÿ˜”  cramped conditions below the deck in darkness
๐Ÿ˜”   diseases such as influenza, measles, and smallpox.
๐Ÿ˜”  women faced the additional threat of abuse and harassment
๐Ÿ˜”  Child convicts were treated the same as adults

                            ๐Ÿ˜ญSome 23-40 convicts died on the voyage๐Ÿ˜ญ
